I get it, choosing a paint color is tough work.
You’re torn between what you want, what everyone else in your house wants, and what you think you should have.
It seems like such a big risk to go for a bold wall color, but when you do it right, it can really pay off.
That’s how it was for California resident, Jordan.
Her home’s entryway was absolutely stunning to begin with.
This is the kind of room that makes me swoon.
It’s that grand entrance that gives you that ‘Cinderella at the ball’ kind of feeling.
The arches give it so much character.
And that board and batten wall treatment really sets the space apart from the open concept layout and the adjoining rooms beside it.
But after taking on such a big project, it seemed like it needed something else.
Now you guys know me, I’m a neutral kind of gal.
Whites, grays, and creams are my jam.
When somebody throws around the idea of putting a bold, dark color on the wall, I get a little nervous and silently say “bless your heart” in my head because I know they’re going to regret it in a week’s time.
That is totally not the case in Jordan’s house.
When she took the plunge and painted those creamy walls navy blue, it took the room to a whole new level.
It looks so rich and inviting and warm.
It feels welcoming and elegant and homey all at the same time.
And the contrast of colors and textures really makes it stand out.
She chose a perfectly proportioned console table and incorporated style and function to make it work for the entry and not just be a piece of furniture stuck on a wall just to take up empty space.
The baskets below are a great filler for the bottom shelf and double as storage.
And while we’re here, let’s take a moment to acknowledge how genius these baskets-turned-wall-art are.
The second section got a crisp gallery wall of framed artwork.
It gives the hallway interest and entices guests to continue through.
The new navy color (Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore) next to the bright white wall treatment really shows off the home’s beautiful architecture.
This house just screams “I’m special.”
You know that old saying, first impressions are everything?
And remember how stunning the entry was before the paint?
Now it’s stunning times ten.
Maybe times one hundred.

FYI, her bedrooms and mudroom are all incredibly fantastic, too.
