About Lela Burris
I’m Lela, founder and CEO of In The New House Designs. I’ve been a self-proclaimed decorator since age 9 and I’ve spent most of my life studying and perfecting how to create homes for people who actually want to live in their houses, not just take pretty pictures of them. I break design rules and don’t follow trends, resulting in timeless spaces you’ll want to come home to.
I spend my free time with the man of my dreams, Nigel, and my ten year old son Noah, who truly believes he’s forty. Fedoras and all. I also have two black cats, Rose and Anakin, and about thirty (and growing) plant babies. The oldest plants in the house are two snake plants my parents received as a wedding gift thirty five-ish years ago.
I’ve got a borderline coffee addiction, I love animals way more than they love me, and I’m a sucker for anything denim. For more on my crazy days, follow along with me @inthenewhouse on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
About Brad Gandy
I’m Brad. I’m the Marketing Coordinator for In The New House Designs. I’m a recent college graduate with a career emphasis on writing and history. At ITNHD, I scour the internet to curate a collection of the best interior decorating tips and inspiration, along with managing business relationships with brands and bloggers.
I live in East Tennessee in a small town, so working online is the perfect escape I need to connect with the world. I love meeting new people and learning more about the world of interior design. Designing spaces for myself has particularly been a challenge for me, as I was born with cerebral palsy and spend my life in a wheelchair. I’m always looking for new ways to create homes that are both beautiful and accessible for other handicapped individuals.
I’m a huge sports fan, so I spend my weekends cheering on my favorite teams. I also enjoy creating PowerPoint presentations for teachers to incorporate into their classroom learning curriculum.
