We are almost to the official beginning of fall and here in the South the leaves haven’t started to change just yet. But it is coming soon and I can’t wait. I’m a sucker for fall. Something about the cool, crisp air, the fireside Friday nights, and the crunchy colorful leaves covering the ground just seems so romantic. I’m not talking about romance between couples, I’m leaning more towards the feel of it. The autumn atmosphere just seems to warm the hearts of everyone and people are generally just in a better mood. I can’t explain it. Fall just makes people happy.
In case you need a mood-booster, or if you’re impatiently awaiting a nice change of scenery, I thought I’d share some photos I took a few years ago while visiting my Dad in Kentucky. It’s been two years since he passed away so I don’t get to Kentucky very often anymore but after digging up these old photos I think I’ll plan a nice drive one weekend in October. Seeing the beautiful scenes on the way up the mountain and in his backyard reminds me to take life slow and enjoy the world we live in.
Gorgeous, right? I know they say the trees transition the same everywhere, but I truly believe there’s something in that Kentucky soil that makes them extra vibrant and beautiful. I’m so ready for fall now. Bring it on.
Oh and while I’m sharing fall photos, I just had to throw in one extra. This is my absolute favorite photo of Noah of all time. He had no idea I was even watching him play until he caught a glimpse of the camera peeking out from the bush I was hiding behind. The sweet little innocent look on his face is just perfect. Hey, a mom’s going to take every chance she can get to brag about her kid.
