Our boxes are unpacked, [some] of the walls are painted, and I’ve rearranged the furniture enough times to settle on their spots (for now). Last weekend we opened our home to our friends and family for a housewarming party and showed off all the work we have done so far. There are lots more projects planned and our home is nowhere near “done” but I’m finally comfortable with taking a few days off and propping my feet up instead of running around like a madwoman with a cordless drill and a paintbrush.
Our housewarming party was fantastic and turned out exactly how I planned. We went with the “Open House” style so guests could drop by anytime within the designated time frame and stay as long or short as they’d like. Aside from tours of the house, we had a few lawn games in the backyard for people to play and some yummy snacks in the kitchen. That’s where all the men gathered (and stayed) throughout the party.
Do you love the wooden serving dishes I used at the party? I got them from Amazon.com. Here are the links so you can get your own!
So since our family and friends have seen the house, now it’s your turn! You all have been asking for pictures of our home for weeks and it’s finally time!
Visit these rooms of The New House for a behind-the-scenes tour.
