Navy and Wood Tones
I’ve got this burning obsession for navy and wood tones.
Not just an obsession but a burning obsession.
If I could, I’d probably turn my house into a navy and wood tone shrine.
I’ve been daydreaming about a dark office a lot lately, so I was really excited when an e-design client asked me to help her create one for her new house.
She wanted budget-friendly pieces that could pack a big design punch.
Together, we came up with this mood board and luckily, she agreed to let me share it here on the blog.
Small Home Office Needs
The space we’re working with is a very small 10×10 room, so there isn’t much surface area to fill.
Although the tiny room is great for saving money on lots of pieces, it makes it difficult to find furniture small enough to fit but big enough to provide the storage and work areas she needed.
Her wishlist included a small desk with storage drawers, portable seating and organizational furniture, pops of gold, and a dark moody vibe.
I suggested painting the walls a dark navy (Naval by Sherwin Williams) because the room has two large windows that let in enough light so it won’t feel like a basement. The window and door trim is a deep wood tone, so wood accents look right at home.
To add to the moody vibe, I threw in a few leather pieces to give it a luxurious feel.
And for a little contrast, I went with a light gray upholstered chair.
I can’t wait to see how it all comes together for her!
If you want to create this home office in your own house, you can shop the pieces below. The images are all clickable and my client is okay with (and honored for you to) take her design and run with it. 🙂
