It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here! Today is the first official day of fall and I am beyond excited. Not just because it’s the beginning of my favorite season, but also because one of my favorite bloggers is here to share her awesome talent. I’ve been following Pam’s blog, Everyday Living, ever since I found her site at a link party many months ago and I am hooked. She and her husband Butch share beautiful photos of design, travel, and home entertaining. I’ve highlighted some of my favorites at Inspiration Thursday a few times and she has agreed to join us today to give us some fall tablescape inspiration. Please give her a warm welcome and be sure to stop by her website afterward to see more of her work.

A very warm hello to you, sweet readers of In the New House. I am Pam, the blogger over at Everyday Living! I am so excited to be with you and a great big thank you to Lela for allowing me to share my love and passion for tablescaping! When Lela contacted me and asked me to share a tablescape, I was delighted for the opportunity to meet new friends! Lela and I have many things in common…love for design, party planning, and cooking! I am not sure about where you live, but here in the deep South, we are experiencing cooler days followed by crisp evenings….perfect for outdoor eating! I hope you enjoy my alfresco tablescape and that you will be inspired to dress-up your table for family and friends!
I love everything about autumn…its tastes, colors, and overall beauty. The tablescape incorporates the many colors of fall! We have two outdoor dining options – a small table for four in the garden, and our table for six on the patio. The three-wheel bicycle in the background is holding a yellow mum that is about to burst out in bloom! The table is set with two different dinner plates…the unexpected is so much fun! Be creative as you set a table, it is more interesting when everything doesn’t match! Shop thrift stores for mis-matched dishes and glasses! You don’t have to spend a fortune! Textures and colors make for a warm and rustic setting! Menu cards are always a hit with guests and are an easy DIY! The tablecloth is an Italian-made cotton and its lively fruit pattern was my inspiration for the alfresco setting! Grapevine wreaths served as rustic chargers. The wood slice adds more warmth and texture as the foundation for the centerpiece! Two hurricane candle holders filled with coffee beans help to make up the centerpiece along with colorful gourds! The stemware of peridot, amethyst, and amber fit perfectly in this autumnal setting! My eye has always been attracted to color – the beauty of creation always inspires me! Late afternoon sunlight casts shadows and light over our freshly cut pasture!
The rattan vase holds preserved willow. I have a photo bomber in the garden, do you see him? As you can see, I am a fan of mixing patterns…plaid napkins and faux tortoise handled flatware on a background of the large fruit patterned cloth! Thank you for visiting our “taste of autumn” on our patio. Please drop by often, we will save a place for you!
