Seven years ago I hosted my first Thanksgiving.
I spent all day cooking and prepping and decorating and stressing.
By the time the food was all ready, I was so tired (and full from snacking) that I barely ate anything at all.
I swore that I would never host another Thanksgiving. Ever again.
And ever since then, I’ve upheld that promise. Until now.
There’s just something about this new house that’s so cozy and welcoming.
We (the house and I) had a long talk when I moved in.
I told it I’d treat it well, take care of it, love it unconditionally, and host amazing parties in it.
So I’m giving Thanksgiving a second chance.
I can do this.
But this year I’m breaking all the rules and throwing my own little twist on old traditions.
I’m talking pot-luck style, fried turkey, and using the living room sofa as the fanciest dining bench ever.
Yeah, it’s about to get pretty classy here at The New House.
I’ll admit, I’m pretty excited about hosting this year.
Follow me on Instagram all day Thursday to see the food, decor, and fun.
Hint: I’m pretty impressed with myself this year.
Another hint: Hobby Lobby is out of all of their mini chalkboards and cotton stems. I may have had something to do with that.
One more hint, just because I’m thankful for you all.
This large wooden treen that will hold the natural veggie centerpiece is going to be added to the Market in December, along with lots of other great new items. Get excited!
