My living room houses my front door and I love that. I find it so inviting to come through the door and land right in the heart of my home. It’s where my son and husband play with action figures late on Friday nights. It’s where my dog waits patiently to greet me after I’ve been out running errands. It’s where family and friends gather during my weekend dinner parties. And it’s the most welcoming place in my house. You can see more of the room here. I don’t mind not having a foyer, but I do find it difficult to find a place to put my keys. There isn’t really much wall space either so hanging organizers are out of the question. But I finally found a solution and I am so happy with it.
While shopping at Hobby Lobby, I found a cute little mini-table on super clearance! And when I say super clearance, I really mean it.
It was already painted and distressed which saved me a lot of work. And the color was a nice contrast to the interior door.
I bought a drawer pull from Hobby Lobby while I was there, too. This one just happens to have the exact same color of green from the table and the exact same color of blue as my door. It was meant to be! The table doesn’t really have a drawer but adding the pull gave it the extra boost it needed. It’s like putting jewelry with an outfit. And you’d never know it was a fake drawer. Until now. Because I just told you. Let’s just keep that between us, ok?
I added a couple of distressed wooden farmhouse crates for keys, wallets, and dog leashes. And who doesn’t love to walk into a room with fresh flowers? I sure do. A mini vase with mini roses gave the small spot a little extra height, which was just what it needed. I also tightened up the door stopper attached to the door hinges to keep it from bumping the table. This little piece of furniture is perfect for the space and is the perfect solution for my foyer-less home. And for a whopping total of $27 for the table and the drawer pull, I call that a pretty smart buy.
