Charleston South Carolina is our favorite place in the whole world. It’s where we went for our honeymoon and will be our yearly vacation spot as well. It’s also where we will retire. I dream of the beautiful old row house we will have right in the middle of town in the French district. We’ll have an eye-catching front door painted a bright color with matching shutters and a cobblestone path leading up to it. We’ll walk out in the mornings for breakfast at a local coffee shop and greet everyone we pass. That’s what the residents do there. It really is the friendliest town in America. Everyone is so warm and welcoming, to locals and tourists alike. I just love it there so much.
We took our son for the first time this year and he really enjoyed it. Of course, he thought all my history lessons of the buildings and streets were borrrrrring but he loved the scenery and the nearby Folly Beach. We took a Murder Mystery Cruise on the Carolina Queen Ship and had a fancy anniversary meal at our favorite restaurant, Burwells. I finally got to see Rainbow Row, too. With torn ligaments in my knee, I wasn’t able to walk the streets like I have done in the past, but my sweet hubby drove really slowly as we toured the residential areas so I could overload my camera with lots of great home shots. Without further ado, please enjoy this virtual tour of Charleston and Folly. But beware, it’s very possible you may fall in love with the town just like we did. And if you do, and retire in a row house down the street, we’ll meet you for coffee on Monday mornings at 8. Don’t forget.
